Protection from Sexual discrimination & Harassment
Carolina College of Biblical Studies strives to provide and promote a safe and welcoming environment for our entire campus community where misconduct in all forms is prohibited and recognized as unacceptable. CCBS does not tolerate acts of sexual harassment, interpersonal violence, sexual misconduct, or sex/gender-based discrimination. All members of our community are expected to conduct themselves in a manner that reflects CCBS’s values, personal integrity, and a respect for others.
Our goal is to live, work, serve, and worship together as an educational community centered around the Lord Jesus Christ. Along with the privileges and blessings of membership in such a community come responsibilities. The members of the CCBS community (administration, staff, faculty, and students) take these responsibilities seriously.
One of these responsibilities is to establish and maintain a safe and healthy social environment for all members of the community that honors the Lord Jesus Christ and God’s vision for human sexuality. God’s vision for sexuality affirms the dignity and purity of all persons. Sexual harassment and assault are behaviors outside of God’s vision for human sexuality that cause pain and suffering. They are also unacceptable behaviors that grieve God’s heart and members of the CCBS community.
The CCBS Title IX Coordinator oversees implementing and monitoring Title IX compliance with all aspects of the policies (including harassment and/or discrimination on the basis of sex or gender) under the requirements of Title IX. Questions about the policies or CCBS’s response should be directed to the Title IX Coordinator.

In the event that an incident involves alleged misconduct by the Title IX Coordinator, reports should be made directly to the Provost.

Anonymous reporting is always an option under Title IX. CCBS will not contact you if you are an anonymous reporter because CCBS will have no information about who made the report and how to contact them. Although CCBS encourages anonymous reporting over not reporting, understand that the less information CCBS has, the more difficult it is for CCBS to take action in remedying an incident of sexual misconduct or sexual harassment.
Reports that are made anonymously or by third parties may not initiate the formal complaint process. However, Title IX requires CCBS to investigate all incidents about which CCBS knows or has reason to know in order to protect the health and safety of the school community. CCBS may undertake an initial assessment even in cases where the alleged victim and/or complainant choose not to cooperate or participate. As necessary, CCBS reserves the right to initiate a complaint, to serve as complainant, and to initiate conduct proceedings without a formal complaint by the victim or complainant. Please understand: if the reporter provides limited information anonymously, CCBS may be limited in its ability to take action.
